Our weekly football coaching academies run throughout the year and take place during each of the 6 school half terms. Generally our courses are 5 or 6 weeks in duration depending on how long each half term actually is.
Our weekly football coaching academy programme consists of fun games, individual technique development, skills competitions and small sided games of mini-soccer. We have developed an age appropriate football based curriculum allowing players to develop at their own pace. Providing each player with a ball helps encourage maximum participation throughout, this, together with a strong emphasis on FUN and enjoyment provides a positive learning environment for each and every child involved on our programme.
Our 'Soccer Tots' course is aimed at 4-5 yr olds (reception and Year 1) who have little or no experience of playing football before. This course is a friendly and safe introduction to football through fun games and basic activities, learning from popular children's topics.
Our 'Soccer Squirts' course for 6-7 yr olds (Year 1 and 2) will develop the core principles and techniques of turning, dribbling, passing, shooting, again in FUN related games situations. Match play of 3v3 and/or 4v4 to encourage lots of touches for each child will enhance maximum participation.
Our 'Soccer Stars' course for the older player of 7 yrs +, although emphasis still remains on FUN and enjoyment the courses will provide an awareness of team play with focus on game related techniques and progressive practices on 4v4, 5v5, 6v6 and 7v7 match play.
All courses will be delivered by fully qualified FA coaches who have significant and specialised experience of working with young players. All Teamscene coaches possess an emergency first aid and child protection certificate and have been screened via the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to ensure the safety of your child.
We recommend participants wear normal playing kit i.e. shorts, socks, t-shirt and/or strip. Trainers for those indoors and suitable warm clothing for those outdoors. We recommend shinpads for older children 7yrs+, and boots if outdoors on grass although trainers may be fine. Please provide a drink for your child as we encourage regular intake of fluids (preferably non-fizzy).
